Cast Iron Inoculant Ferro Boron Lump
Melting point: 1400–1550 ℃
Density: 5.8–6.5 g/cm³
Standard lump size: 10–50 mm (customizable: 5–10mm, 20–80mm)
Products Description
Ferro Boron Lump (FeB) is an iron-boron master alloy block, specially developed as inoculant & alloy additive for gray cast iron, ductile iron, malleable cast iron and wear-resistant boron cast iron production.
It serves dual functions: inoculation refinement and boron alloying, widely applied in casting foundries for automotive, machine tool, mining machinery wear-resistant parts.

Application Fields
Automotive Castings
Add Cast Iron Inoculant Ferro Boron Lump during smelting to produce engine cylinder sleeve, piston ring, camshaft, valve seat, brake disc; it refines graphite structure and upgrades the wear resistance of auto iron castings.
01
Machinery Equipment
Foundries mix Cast Iron Inoculant Ferro Boron Lump with molten iron for gear box housing, machine tool slide, bearing seat, hydraulic pump body, which effectively eliminates chilling defects of thin-wall mechanical castings.
02
Wear-resistant Industry
Cast Iron Inoculant Ferro Boron Lump acts as both inoculant and boron alloy additive for mining liner, roller, crusher parts, agricultural machinery wear components, forming hard boride phases to extend service life of wear-resistant cast iron workpieces.
03
Metallurgy & Pipe Fittings
When manufacturing ductile iron pipe, high-strength grey iron structural parts, malleable iron fittings, adding Cast Iron Inoculant Ferro Boron Lump stabilizes casting matrix, reduces section sensitivity and cuts reject rate.
04
Usage Instruction
Adding Amount: 0.05%–0.3% of total molten iron weight (adjust based on casting type & hardness demand)
Adding Method: Ladle inoculation / late stream inoculation during pouring; throw lumps into molten iron stream for fast melting
Melting Tip: Avoid long-time high-temperature holding after feeding to prevent boron element attenuation
