High Carbon Silico Manganese
Products Description
High carbon silico manganese has a high carbon content, typically 6.0% - 7.0%. Because of its high carbon content, it helps to increase the carbon content in steel during steel making, improving the strength and hardness of the steel. Its smelting method is usually electric furnace smelting. At high temperatures, manganese oxides in manganese ore are reduced by coke and silica in silica is reduced to silicon. At the same time carbon is combined with manganese and silicon to produce a high carbon silicon and manganese alloy. Of course, during production, the operator should strictly control the quality and proportion of raw materials, furnace temperature, smelting time and other parameters according to the actual application areas and customer requirements.
Our Factory
How to produce high quality high carbon silico manganese?
As a professional ferroalloy plant, ensuring the quality of products is the most important thing to us.
-
Strict screening of ores
The grade and impurity content of manganese ore and silica directly affect the quality of high carbon silicon and manganese. The company uses high grade ores with few impurities and strictly controls the content of phosphorus, sulphur and other harmful elements in the ores. Detailed composition analysis and quality inspection are carried out for each batch of ore entering the plant to ensure that it meets the production requirements.
-
Ensure the quality of coke
Coke is an important raw material to provide heat and reducing agent, and its fixed carbon content, ash, volatile matter and other indexes should meet the process requirements. High fixed carbon content can provide enough heat and reducing capacity. Low ash content can reduce the impurities brought in. Volatile matter is moderate, which is conducive to controlling the reaction atmosphere in the furnace.
-
Standardise raw material storage
Prepared raw materials will be classified and stored to avoid mixing and moisture. Especially for manganese ore and silica, it is necessary to prevent their moisture content from being too high during storage due to rain, wet ground, etc., which will affect the reaction in the furnace and product quality.
-
Precise Batching
According to the composition requirements of the products, the proportion of manganese ore, silica, coke and other raw materials is calculated precisely. Advanced dosing equipment and measuring devices are adopted to ensure the accuracy of dosing. At the same time, calibrate and maintain the batching equipment regularly to ensure its normal operation.
-
Optimise smelting process parameters
Strictly control key process parameters such as furnace temperature, slag alkalinity and smelting time. According to the characteristics of raw materials and equipment conditions, formulate reasonable process operating procedures and require operators to strictly implement them. For example, too high furnace temperature may lead to too high silicon content in the alloy, while too low will make the reaction incomplete and affect product quality.
