Product Introduction

Products Description

High carbon ferro manganese is a ferro manganese alloy with a high carbon content, usually 65-90 per cent manganese and 7-8 per cent carbon. The chemical composition of high carbon ferro manganese is not only manganese, iron and carbon, but also sometimes impurities such as silicon, phosphorus and sulphur. It has a bright metallic appearance with no powder or slag entrapment. It can remain stable in high temperature, high pressure and high load working environment. It can also be used to produce medium and low carbon ferro manganese.

Advantages of high carbon ferromanganese

Good effect of deoxidation and desulphurisation

The manganese element in high carbon ferromanganese has strong affinity with oxygen and sulfur, and can effectively remove oxygen and sulfur in steel. It can significantly enhance the purity of steel and improve its mechanical properties and processing performance.

Enhance the strength and wear resistance of steel

Manganese is an important alloying element for steel, and adding high carbon ferromanganese can provide manganese. This can significantly improve the strength, hardness, wear resistance and toughness of the steel. It makes the finished steel more suitable for manufacturing parts that are subjected to high strength and wear.

Improved casting performance

In the foundry industry, high carbon ferromanganese improves the fluidity of iron, reduces porosity and shrinkage in castings, and improves the surface quality and internal organisation of castings.

Various production methods

High carbon ferromanganese can be produced by various processes such as blast furnace method and electric furnace method. The high carbon ferromanganese produced by the electric furnace method contains less silicon, phosphorus and sulphur impurities, which is suitable for high quality requirements.
