Silicomanganese

Manganese and silicon are the main alloying elements used in carbon steel making. Manganese is one of the most important deoxidizers in the steelmaking process, and almost all kinds of steel need to use manganese to deoxidize. The oxygen product generated by manganese deoxidation has a low melting point and is easy to float.. All industrial steel needs to add a small amount of manganese as a desulfurizer, so that the steel can be hot rolled, forging and other processes without breaking, manganese is the most important alloying element of each steel, in the alloy steel will also add more than 15% of manganese to increase the structural strength of steel.

►The raw materials for the production of silicon manganese is manganese ore, manganese rich slag, silica, coke, dolomite (or limestone), fluorite.  Because the content of iron and phosphorus required by siliconmanganese is lower than that of high-carbon ferromanganese, the manganese ore smelting manganese silicon alloy is required to have a higher ratio of manganese iron and manganese phosphorus. The higher the manganese content of the manganese ore used, the better the indicators.

►The approximate consumption of smelting a ton of siliconmanganese is:manganese ore (containing Mn28.5%) 2000~2100kg.
