Vanadium Metal

There are three commonly used vanadium iron containing vanadium 40%, 60% and 80%. The main raw material of ferrovanadium production in China is vanadium-titanium magnetite. After concentration, vanadium-containing pig iron is refined through blast furnace, and vanadium slag is extracted in the process of atomizing furnace or converter blowing. The vanadium slag was crushed and added with sodium salt (soda ash, salt or anhydrous mirabarite) for sodium oxidation roasting, so that vanadium became soluble sodium metavanadate (NaVO3). After leaching and purification, ammonium sulfate was added to precipitate ammonium polyvanadate [(NH4)2V6O16], and then deammoniated and melted to cast vanadium pentoxide into flakes. The required composition is V2O597~99%, P< 0.05%, S< That's 0.05%. 1.5%. Vanadium pentoxide is also extracted directly from vanadium-containing iron concentrate or vanadium-containing carbonaceous shale by chemical treatment.
 

Iron vanadium is an important alloy additive in iron and steel industry. Vanadium can improve the strength, toughness, ductility and heat resistance of steel. Since the 1960s, the use of vanadium in the steel industry has increased dramatically, and by 1988 it accounted for 85% of vanadium consumption. The proportion of vanadium consumption in steel is 20% carbon steel, 25% high-strength low-alloy steel, 20% alloy steel, and 15% tool steel. High strength low alloy steel containing vanadium (HSLA) is widely used in the production and construction of oil/gas pipelines, buildings, Bridges, steel rails, pressure vessels, carriage frames, etc. The application range of various vanadium containing steels is becoming wider and wider, and the relevant talents are becoming more and more important.
