Lump Silicon Metal (blocky metallic silicon, also known as blocky industrial silicon or blocky crystalline silicon) is the most common original form of metallurgical grade metallic silicon. It is produced by smelting with quartz sand and petroleum coke in a blast furnace at high temperatures and then casting into shape. The main component silicon content is ≥ 98.5%, and it is the most widely used basic raw material of industrial silicon in global aluminum alloys, organic silicon, photovoltaic and other industries.
Core application fields
- Aluminum alloy industry: As a core alloy element added, it significantly enhances the strength, corrosion resistance and casting performance of aluminum alloys, and is the core raw material for automotive wheels, architectural profiles, and aviation aluminum materials;
- Organosilicon industry: Synthesize organic silicon monomers, silicone oil, silicone rubber, silicone resin, etc., and are widely used in sealing, electronics, medicine, and construction fields;
- Photovoltaic new energy: As a production raw material for polysilicon and monocrystalline silicon, it is the basic raw material for photovoltaic cell sheets and semiconductor chips;
- Metallurgical industry: Used for deoxidation in steelmaking and special alloy smelting, to improve the performance of steel;
- Fire-resistant materials industry: Processed into silicon powder as raw material, to enhance the high-temperature strength and erosion resistance of refractory bricks and casting materials.
