What is ferromanganese?

Ferromanganese is a kind of iron alloy, which is mainly composed of manganese and iron, and also contains a small amount of carbon, silicon, phosphorus and other elements. Depending on the manganese content, ferromanganese can be divided into high, medium and low ferromanganese. High ferromanganese has the highest manganese content, which can reach more than 75 per cent, and is also the most expensive. It is mainly used in the production of high-end steel. Medium ferromanganese has a manganese content of around 60 per cent, is moderately priced and is suitable for general steel production. Low ferromanganese manganese has a lower content and is usually used in the production of copper alloys and other products.
