Medium Carbon Ferro Manganese
Manganese content: 75%-85%
Deoxidation capacity: strong
Products Description
Medium carbon ferro manganese usually has a carbon content of between 1.0% and 1.5% and a manganese content of between 75% and 85%. Its carbon content is moderate enough to provide a certain degree of deoxidisation without significantly increasing the carbon content of the steel. Medium carbon ferro manganese is produced by the electric furnace method, where the carbon content is adjusted by controlling the ratio of raw materials and the smelting process. It is suitable for steel grades that require some control of carbon content, such as steels for mechanical parts and tool steels.

Different performance characteristics
High carbon ferromanganese:
High carbon content, high deoxidising and desulphurising capacity. The addition of high carbon ferromanganese to the steel significantly increases the carbon content and is suitable for use in steel grades that do not require high carbon content. It is relatively inexpensive and cost-effective.
Medium Carbon Ferromanganese:
It has a moderate carbon content and can provide deoxidising capacity but does not significantly increase the carbon content in the steel. It is suitable for steel grades where some control of carbon content is required.
Low Carbon Ferromanganese:
The carbon content is very low and will not significantly increase the carbon content when added to the liquid steel. It is suitable for smelting low carbon steel, ultra-low carbon steel and other steel grades with strict requirements on carbon content.
Different application areas
High carbon ferromanganese:
This kind of ferromanganese is mainly used in the smelting of ordinary steel and low alloy steel, such as construction steel and ordinary structural steel.
Medium carbon ferromanganese:
This kind of ferromanganese is used in the smelting of medium carbon steel and alloy steel, such as steel for mechanical parts, tool steel, etc.
Low carbon ferromanganese:
This kind of ferromanganese is mainly used in the smelting of high-quality steel, such as stainless steel, alloy steel, special steel, such as heat-resistant steel, wear-resistant steel, electrical steel, etc.
Different production processes
High carbon ferromanganese:
It is usually produced by blast furnace method or electric furnace method, the process is relatively simple and the cost is low.
Medium carbon ferromanganese:
It is usually produced by electric furnace method, and the carbon content is adjusted by controlling the ratio of raw materials and smelting process.
Low carbon ferromanganese:
It is more complex production process, usually adopts electrosilicon heat method or refining method to reduce carbon content and control impurities.
