Black graphite carbon is an excellent adsorbent for gas chromatography. The adsorption isotherm of regular polyhedron with uniform graphitized surface remains linear in the range of higher surface concentration. Graphite is an allotrope of carbon, its color is gray-black, opaque solid. Its melting point is 3652 ℃ and its boiling point is 4827 ℃. It has stable chemical properties, corrosion resistance, and is not easy to react with acid, alkali and other chemicals.

The black graphite carbon has stable chemical properties of elemental carbon at room temperature and is insoluble in water, dilute acid, dilute alkali and organic solvent. At high temperature, it can react and burn with oxygen to generate carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide; In halogen, only fluorine can react directly with carbon; Under heating, the elemental carbon is easily oxidized by acid.

Application

For refractory materials: graphite and its products have the properties of high temperature resistance and high strength, which are mainly used to make graphite crucible in metallurgical industry, graphite is commonly used as the protective agent of steel ingot, and the lining of metallurgical furnace.
