Monocrystalline silicon refers to a substance formed in an arrangement of silicon atoms, which is a relatively active non-metallic element crystal. Compared with polysilicon, monocrystalline silicon has the advantages of high photoelectric conversion efficiency, high mechanical strength, long service life, low fragmentation rate, and is widely used in photovoltaic power generation and semiconductor manufacturing.

The production process of monocrystalline silicon includes crucible free suspension zone melting method and crucible straight drawing method. Crucible free suspension zone melting method refers to the use of high frequency coil in the vacuum furnace in the contact of single crystal seed crystal and polysilicon rod to create a melting zone, the final preparation of high purity, small diameter monocrystalline silicon. Crucible vertical pull method, also known as the Cheklaowski method, the method needs to clean the raw material polysilicon to remove the surface debris, and then the seed crystal is stuck on the tie rod clamp, through the crystal, shoulder, equal diameter growth, finishing and other processes, the final production of monocrystalline silicon.

Monocrystalline silicon data analysis
At present, China's polysilicon production can fully meet the demand for monocrystalline silicon production. In 2021, China's monocrystalline silicon production reached 153.6GW, an increase of 24.6%. With the continuous acceleration of the production capacity layout process of local enterprises, it is expected that by 2025, China's monocrystalline silicon production will exceed 370.0GW.

Main field of monocrystalline silicon
Monocrystalline silicon is mainly used in the photovoltaic field, and solar cells are its largest demand end. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June 2022, the cumulative production of solar cells in China reached 142.0GW, a cumulative increase of 31.8%. Benefiting from the rapid development of the downstream industry, China's monocrystalline silicon market continues to expand.
