Ferroalloys have many functions in industry, with wide application and good performance, such as ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, recarburizer, silicon slag, etc. Each product has different functions, and can usually be divided into the following categories:
Deoxidizer: remove oxygen from molten steel during the steelmaking process, and some ferroalloys can also remove other impurities in steel such as sulfur and nitrogen;
Alloy additives: According to the requirements of the steel composition, alloy elements are added to the steel to improve the performance of the steel;
Inoculants: Added to molten iron before cast iron casting to improve the crystallization structure of castings;
Reductant: Reductant for the production of other ferroalloys and non-ferrous metals by metallothermal reduction; alloy additive for non-ferrous alloys; also used in a small amount in the chemical industry and other industries.
