Silicon-Manganese Alloy (Si-Mn)
- Characteristics: This alloy combines the advantages of silicon and manganese to generate low melting point manganese silicate, and the deoxidation products are easy to gather and float, so as to achieve the purpose of deoxidation.
- Application: This alloy can improve the deoxidation efficiency and reduce the cost, suitable for medium and low carbon steel.
Silicon calcium Alloy (Si-Ca)
- Characteristics: Calcium has strong deoxidising and desulphurising ability, and the CaO-SiO₂ or CaO-Al₂O₃ generated is easier to remove.
- Applications: This alloy is usually used for high purity steel grades such as bearing steel and pipeline steel.
Aluminium-Silicon Alloy (Al-Si)
- Characteristics: Aluminium-silicon alloys combine the strong deoxidising ability of aluminium with the auxiliary effect of silicon, which reduces the amount of aluminium used.
- Application: This alloy is suitable for steel grades with stringent requirements on inclusions morphology.
