Ferro silicon manganese is an alloy of silicon, manganese and iron, usually containing about 20 per cent silicon and more than 60 per cent manganese, with small amounts of carbon and other impurities. It is mainly used in the steel production and foundry industries. Ferro silicon manganese is made by smelting silicon and manganese ores. During the smelting process, a large amount of high temperature dusty fumes are generated.
